Utility Jacket

Happy Halloween!
I cannot get over how fast October flew by.
I went to Target today & they are coming in hot with christmas decor.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Seems like christmas comes earlier and earlier each year.

I picked up a few items from targets clothing section today.
It gets me every time.
I wanted to share with you the awesome deals they have going on. Remember this post where I shared a little tip on when to get the best deals at target.
If you text targets number 827-438, you will receive a coupon for $10 off a $40  purchase of shoes, apparel, & accessories.  On top of that saving, if you have targets cartwheel app add the 30% off women's sweaters, & 25% off any hats, scarves, & gloves. Then if you have the debit REDcard like me, you will save an additional 5% off of each item.
Winning.
So those clothing items you've been eyeing at Target or the cute scarf you want to buy, I would go pick them up now before the sale ends on November 5th.
Gotta love great deals & target... Although my husband would disagree. (:

Speaking of target, I bought this utility jacket the last big sale they had and I've been so happy with it. I love the length, the color and how light it is for these fall days. It's perfect.

I kinda was a downer when it came to Halloween this year. I didn't feel like spending the money to dress myself or my kids up this year. I know... I know... I'm so mean.
Sawyer is in a hand me down costume from Liam, who he thinks is captain america. Liam is actually Captain America, with just a cape & a mask that he won't wear because he says it hurts his brain. haha...The things he comes up with at this age are priceless.

^^ I quickly snapped this photo of my mom & my boys walking, I thought it was sweet. ^^

We took advantage of the nice weather on Saturday to take the boys on a pumpkin walk in Crown Point, Indiana. I figured if it was raining or snowing on halloween day we at least did that.
I threw on a star wars sweatshirt that my son thinks I'm cool every time I wear it and called it good.
Anytime I'm chasing after kids with groups a people around, I always lean more towards comfy cute.

Here's a fun fact for you, this Crown Point square was actually where part of the movie Public Enemies was filmed.
It has such a small town vibe which I love.
We use to live two blocks away and I use to walk at least 3 times a week with the boys.
I miss living so close.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!
Or as Sawyer would say Happy Halloweenie.

Let me know if you do make a target run and what you end up getting!
I would love to hear all about it!

Thanks for stopping by!

For the love of cardigans.

I wish I was kidding when I said that this was the first time I've sat down today.
I love a busy day with purpose. It gives me a reason to be productive.
Still trying to balance everything and its becoming more and more difficult as Liam gets older. Between his schooling and those extra things I signed up for, I'm pretty booked or at least I feel like I am. I probably just need to know how to manage my time better.
Does anyone else struggle with this?
What do you do to manage your time better?

To improve my time management skills, I decided to buy a little planner. So I could actually write things down instead of just putting them in my phone. I went to go sit down and write everything in and realized I had bought a 2017-2018 planner.

Well I tried....

When I think of fall fashion, I think of cardigans, layering, and boots.
I feel like a neutral colored cardigan is a big staple piece this fall.
I am obsessing over this cardigan I bought.
I especially love that it is thick enough that I can wear it without having to wear a bulky coat. I wore this out Friday night in Indy, and was actually sweating.. if that gives you a clear view of how thick this cardigan is.

Can you believe I bought it at Forever 21?
For under $35 I got everything I was looking for in a cardigan.
Not to mention it's perfect length.

Well guys, I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday. We are inching closer to the weekend.

Hallelujah.

What is everyone's plans for Halloween this year?
I'm just praying it will be nice weather to take the boys out.
We've had every type of season you can imagine on halloween day.
Last year we had our first snowfall.

We've seen it all here in the Midwest.

Overalls.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It went by way too fast in my opinion.
My husband, Brent and I just got back yesterday afternoon from Indianapolis. We had a nice weekend away with some of my high school friends.
Most of us still stay in touch, and I love that about us. No matter what stage of life we are in, when we get together its like nothing changed.
Are you still close with any of your high school friends?

I'm pretty fortunate to have some pretty great ones.
I always say you don't need a lot of friends, you just need good ones and I feel like I have some of the best.

We signed up to do Handlebar Indy on Saturday evening. In case you are not sure what that is, its a 16 person pub on a giant bike where you get to pedal through the streets of Indy.
Best idea ever.
I highly recommend it. Get a group of friends together and go.
You will have the best time.

I wanted to share one of my outfits I wore in Indy.
Overalls are back ladies, and I'm in love.
These overalls I found on clearance at H&M, which is great for me but hard to link.
I've linked other similar overalls for you since I couldn't link this exact pair.
My top is also from H&M for $12.99 and it wasn't on clearance.
Big spender over here.
I can't find it online for some reason but I bought it recently. It's part of their basic line.
So comfortable & soft for being at that price point.

Short & sweet post today guys.
I hope Monday wasn't too rough on ya.

See you Wednesday!

Boho Flare.

In case you forgot it's Friday... We made it to the weekend.
Although I took these photos on a 80 degree day, the air is finally getting crisp, leaves our changing colors overnight & crockpot meals are on the rise. There is something so magical about fall. I love living in a place that has season changes. When you have season changes then comes outfit changes. I couldn't be more excited to start switching things up.

I already went on and on in my last post (that can be found here) about these jeans, so I won't go into great detail but all I can say is I told you it wouldn't be the last time you saw them. (:

This off the shoulder top is from Target this year. I love the off the shoulder look & I really feel like it looks great on just about any body type. Try one on, you might surprise yourself.

Let's talk about these earrings.  My amazing Mother in law bought these for me for my birthday last year. I absolutely love them, I can already tell they will be a timeless piece. I feel like they won't ever go out of style.  I've looked at other Kendra Scott pieces and to be honest the price point on her jewelry isn't too bad. I feel like they would make great christmas gifts without breaking the bank. (Brent if your reading this take note... haha)

My boys love to be apart of everything I'm doing, which to be honest can be so frustrating at the time.   You probably can't tell in the photo but I was so annoyed.
Bad mom moment but just keeping it real.
I have to constantly remind myself that they won't be this little for that long.  Soon they won't want to kiss me in public or hold my hand while we cross the street.  I'm going to wish these years back and realize how quickly those younger years flew by. My son Liam is already at the stage where he gets embarrassed of me. True story, I bought a star wars sweatshirt just because he thought I looked cool. You have to take it while you can

I looked back on the pictures we took this day and was overwhelmed with joy.
No matter how many times a day they make me want to pull my hair out being a mom is really the best job ever.
They are such a blessing.
So hang in there, Mommas.
We got this.

I thought I would leave you with one of my favorite verses, I think it speaks volumes to women in any stage in life.  Something we can strive for everyday.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.
28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her:
29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”

30Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised.
Proverbs 31:25-30

Have a great weekend!

Bring on the T-shirt & Jeans.

Tee | Jeans can't find online similar here & here | Bag | Hat

It's Wednesday.... Half way to the weekend. YES.
I'm heading south to Indy this weekend and I CANNOT WAIT.
Can you believe I've lived in Northwest Indiana almost my whole teenage/adult life and I have never been to Indianapolis. I've driven through, but never stopped in and stayed. I am so excited.
I love a good weekend away, planned with great friends, and with funny stories we will be laughing about later.
Can't wait to share it all with you.

Who would've thought bell bottom flares would be back in style??
Not me but .. I ain't hatin' it.
I am loving this trend right now.

T shirt and jeans are my jam.
This is my go to style being a mom on the move.  Throw on a cute hat to cover that 2 day old hair, seriously, I live in hats especially when I don't have to get dressed up to go somewhere.

I found these McGuire high waisted flares at Nordstrom Rack. I've actually never heard of the brand before. I grabbed them from the rack and my first thought was, yeah there is no way these will fit. They looked so small in the waist but these jeans slid on like a glove and fit perfectly. I love the raw hem at the bottom and I love that fact that you can't see my shoes. I mean to be honest I could be wearing slippers under there and no one will know.
Not to mention they were on sale from $90 to $27.  YESSS.
I love when shopping days go your way.
This will not be the last time you see these jeans styled on the blog.
I am just too in love.

I decided to pair these trendy jeans with one of my favorite comfy tee's.
Straight from Waco, Texas itself.  It's the right balance of comfy & cute.  I love when people get in close and ask "is that a goat on your shirt?"
"Why yes, yes it is." haha

About that one time I went to Magnolia Market with my family.  I will say going there the day after christmas might not have been one of our brightest ideas but it was such an amazing place, great day for the family.  All the food trucks, big open area for your kids to run and play. Also you will be swooning over all the home decor.  I saw on Instagram, they added a bakery since the last time I went.  Good news for me, my husband's whole family lives in Texas. We can make a pit stop anytime we decide to drive down.  If you are ever in the area you definitely need to stop by.  Even to just explore through Waco, its such a cute town.  You won't regret it.

Let me reminisce for a minute..

Has anyone else been to Magnolia Market?
How was your experience?
I would love to hear all about it!

Basic.

Sweater old but I am loving this. | Jeans | Booties | Purse

Happy Monday Ya'll,

The weekend went by way too fast.  I spent most of my weekend shopping.  Not a bad way to spend a weekend, although my husband & boys would say otherwise.  I can't wait to style some of the pieces  I found, so stay tuned!

This outfit is pretty basic but I am loving this sweater for fall.  Sweaters with big necks like this are nice because you can wear them in different ways. You can have a little shoulder action going on or keep it like I am wearing it here.  The slits on the side are nice and unique to add a little flare. This sweater I actually purchased from Windsor last year but I am still loving it this year.  Talking about wearing this sweater off the shoulder here's a little side story, my son Liam the other day had a t-shirt on and had it pulled down his one shoulder. It didn't click for a minute until he said "Mom I'm wearing my shirt like you." Greeeaaattt ... I'm sure your Dad will love that.  Kids really do catch everything.

I am still obsessing over these booties from Steve Madden.  For moms, I know how important the comfort factor is when buying clothes and shoes. These exceeded my expectations by a mile.  Although I am a mom of two, I don't want to dress like one. I want to find comfortable, cute clothes that are still stylish.  Goal Achieved with this outfit.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

xo.
