Hurricane Ridge || Washington

Out of focus about 50% of the time, shaky camera, and I'm sure a ton of editing errors but what can I say, we are learning. It's been fun!
I'm excited to be able to share these videos with my sweet boys when they get older.

Wishing you the comfort of friendship, the love of family, the joy of laughter, and faith that can move mountains - this Christmas and in the New Year!

For to us a child is born,

    to us, a son is given,

And he will be called

Places to go while in Victoria, B.C.

This is part two of my trip to Victoria.
This post will be all about the places we went while we were there, and places I would recommend going. If you are just taking a trip to Victoria or are stationed like we are in Washington and want to plan a trip. This post is perfect for you.
Everything I mention is within walking distance in the downtown area.

I'm going to start with my favorite,  Irish Times Pub on government street.
AMAZING.
We had the best steak/salmon salad while we were there. Also if you just want a drink, they sometimes have live entertainment, which is the perfect ending to a great night.
So that is a must see.

For lunch, we headed over to Fishermans Wharf to go eat at The Fish Store, definitely get their fish n chips. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this that it was the best I've ever had. Homemade tartar sauce and their coleslaw is perfection. You actually can watch them take the fresh fish and dip it into the batter. My mouth is still watering from just thinking about it.

Also when in Canada you, of course, have to make a trip to Tim Hortons. For a delicious doughnut and latte. Definitely affordable too if you're looking for a cheaper on the go option.

Another coffee shop that my mom and I spent a lot of our time was Pour on government street.
If you're looking for a nice comfortable spot to relax in the morning or an afternoon pick me up. I would highly recommend this.

How cute is it?
The atmosphere was perfect & the coffee tastes even better than it looks, which is pretty darn good.

My mom & I were looking for a really good breakfast place to go to on our last day. We found a little cafe called Jam. The online reviews were amazing & as you can see the line to get in was never ending but with this place being a bit of a walk from where we stayed, we decided to wait. Not gonna lie, it felt like forever when we were waiting. Probably didn't help that we were so hungry. Jam did not disappoint. It was worth every second that we had to wait. My only suggestion would be, get there early.

I mean... I'm hungry now.

Anyways, those are the places we decided to go when we were visiting Canada. I don't know about you but when I'm on a vacation, what places to eat and where to go is always a huge topic for us. I just wanted to create a post where people can come and check out my recommendations and even share their favorites too. (:

Trip to Victoria, B.C. || Part 1

Ever since we made the move out to Washington I had a list in mind of what I wanted to do. Kinda like a bucket list. There's things that I probably wouldn't have ever done if we hadn't moved here. Visiting Victoria, B.C. was one of them. So when my mom came into town we decided to take a 90 minute ferry ride over to Canada. Perks of living in the PNW right now.

So in a nutshell, Victoria is absolutely beautiful, has some of the friendliest people, amazing food, & even better coffee. One of the nicest things was the fact that no matter where you stay, you can walk anywhere. Which is so perfect considering the amount of food we ate... Didn't make you feel as guilty. That's at least the way I like to think of it. (;

We stayed at Laurel Pointe Inn. Once you get off the ferry, you take a right, walk less than five minutes and you arrive at our hotel. It was the perfect location with an incredible view of the harbor.

Here are just some snap shots from our stay. If I put all the photos in one it would be an incredibly long post so I decided to break it up into two posts. This first post is just going to be photos of us walking around town. The second post will be places we loved, so stay tuned! (:

Titanic vibes coming into port. ---

Parliament at night is a must see. We were on our way back to our hotel at this point & it was beyond beautiful to see it all lit up.

View from our hotel room.

It's not everyday you run into a seal.. well maybe it is for us now living in PNW but definitely no seals in Indiana.

Tea Tree Oil Shampoo with Maple Holistics -- Review

I'm excited to be back everyone! It's been way too long! I have had some trouble renewing my domain, which I'm already not tech savvy at all so the non stop "chat with us" on the google page was my life. It took me forever to figure it out but I did it & on the bright side I'm learning.

So I have a confession to make...
I'm kinda a hair junkie. I love trying new hair products. Serums, oils, shampoos, & conditioners. I will try them all so when Maple Holistics reached out to see if I would be willing to try there tea tree shampoo I said yes with no hesitation.

I was sent this shampoo a little bit ago but I wanted to use it for a couple weeks before I felt like I could give you my honest opinion.
I'm impressed. Not only does it smell amazing, it also has incredible benefits to your hair & scalp as well. It's a win-win in my book.

Here's the link to their free samples program as well. I love samples so I was so excited when I heard they had this. I feel like every company should have something like this.

This all natural tea tree shampoo did the trick for me & my dry scalp. Especially since I do not wash my hair everyday but this has been my go to shampoo to really deep clean my hair without drying it out. Tea tree oil in itself offers your body incredible benefits along with smelling very therapeutic.  You add it to a shampoo & you have amazing results as well. It's perfect for Brent & I to share that is ...if I let him. (;

Now to just get my hands on the conditioner....
